Our verdict

Porsche's footprint was 16,798,745 tCO2e in 2025, down from 20,173,562 t in 2024, but much of the fall came from 15% lower unit sales; its per-vehicle decarbonization index fell only 3.7%. About 78% of its energy came from renewable sources, mostly through green supply contracts. Its SBTi commitment was removed after it expired, and Porsche says its 2030 use-phase target will have to be revised. Its use-phase figures rest on legal test cycles, not real-world driving. In 2022 it paid a $6,421,897.40 civil penalty to settle California regulators' claims over gasoline emission violations, and its own lobby-register entry asks for further flexibilities in EU car CO2 rules.

Porsche scores 32/100 (Below expectations) on SINK's independent climate assessment, scored from public data only. Scores are free. Nobody can pay to change a score, speed it up or hide it. Last verified November 2026.
