ByteDance claims annual GHG Protocol-aligned assessments since 2021 but has never published Scope 1 or Scope 2 figures. A 2024 Fortune statement indirectly implies ~10M tonnes of emissions, but this is unverifiable. For a company with 150,000 employees and massive global data center operations, complete non-disclosure warrants minimal scoring.

ByteDance's 2023 net-zero pledge explicitly excludes the value chain. Greenpeace stated the supply chain 'probably accounts for most of ByteDance's total emissions.' No Scope 3 data exists for data centers, hardware procurement, cloud infrastructure, or e-commerce operations (TikTok Shop: $34B GMV).
