Our verdict

Stellantis' footprint was 391.9 Mt CO2e in 2025, down from 414.7 Mt in 2024, with much of the fall tracking lower volumes. Renewables were 15.4% of its energy use, and 13.6% of purchased electricity was backed by bundled certificates. In its 2025 strategy reset it replaced its targets with a 20-30% absolute cut by 2030 and moved net zero from 2038 to 2050; it says they do not align with the SBTi 1.5°C pathway. FCA US was sentenced in 2022 after pleading guilty in a US diesel-emissions fraud probe, and Frankfurt prosecutors fined Stellantis Europe in 2025. InfluenceMap records it lobbying to weaken EU car CO2 standards.
